How Much RAM Does a Kingdoms of the Valley Server Need?

Kingdoms of the Valley blends Create's automation, MineColonies' colony building, and dimensional exploration through Twilight Forest and the Aether — see the Kingdoms of the Valley pack page for the full mod list. That combination means RAM needs scale faster than a typical single-system modpack. Here's how much you actually need at each stage. Finnish players: Minecraft-palvelin hosting is our native-language page. German players: Minecraft-Server mieten covers the same hosting auf Deutsch. Svenska spelare: Hyra Minecraft-server täcker samma hosting på svenska.

4 GB

The bare minimum for a solo player or a quick test boot. Expect noticeable stutter once MineColonies' colonist AI and Create's contraptions are both active, and venturing into Twilight Forest or the Aether will push it further.

6 GB

The recommended starting point for most Kingdoms of the Valley servers. This is enough headroom for Create's automation, MineColonies' colony simulation, and normal chunk loading across the overworld and the modpack's extra dimensions.

8 GB

A safer bet for a small-to-mid active group building out a real colony and running several Create production lines at once, especially once players start spending regular time in Twilight Forest or the Aether.

12 GB

What you want for 10+ players, a large multi-colony world, or a long-running server where Create contraptions, MineColonies settlements, and both extra dimensions are all loaded and active simultaneously.
