How Much RAM Does a Restless Horizons Server Need?

Restless Horizons (see the Restless Horizons pack page) is a Forge 1.20.1 exploration pack where progression depends on visiting biome-specific loot zones and dimensional exploration gates rather than sitting still in one base, so RAM needs scale with how much of the map players are actively covering. Finnish players: Minecraft-palvelin hosting is our native-language page. German players: Minecraft-Server mieten covers the same hosting auf Deutsch. Svenska spelare: Hyra Minecraft-server täcker samma hosting på svenska.

4 GB

Bare minimum for solo play or a tiny two-player group. Expect tighter margins once a player starts crossing into new biomes or triggers a dimensional exploration gate.

6 GB

The best starting point for most Restless Horizons servers, and the pack's own recommended RAM floor. Comfortably covers the biome-specific loot tables and exploration gate state the pack keeps active as players spread out.

8 GB

Safer for a mid-size active group exploring in different directions at once — more biome regions and dimensional gates loaded simultaneously means more headroom is worth having.

12 GB

Recommended for 10+ players or a long-running world. Restless Horizons rewards constant movement rather than base-camping, so a busy, established server tends to have far more of the map actively loaded than a typical modpack at the same player count.
