How to Host a Create Live 7 Server
Create Live 7 is Season 7 of the long-running German Create SMP series, built on NeoForge 1.21.1 and already past 22K downloads. This season centers Create's train systems as the logistics backbone of your factory civilization, which changes what you actually need to get right before launch — a correct RAM floor and a clean first boot matter more here than on a typical modpack.
Start with at least 6 GB of RAM. That's the recommended floor for Create Live 7's mod list on NeoForge 1.21.1 — Create's physics-heavy contraptions and train systems chew through memory fast once a few players are running rail lines at once, so don't start lower and hope to upgrade later.
Import the modpack directly rather than guessing from a client export. Create Live 7 is a curated Season 7 build with a specific mod and config set — pulling it in cleanly (server pack, not a manually zipped client folder) avoids missing server-side dependencies that trains and kinetic contraptions rely on.
Watch the console through first boot until it reaches a clean idle state. NeoForge mod loading for a pack this size can take a few minutes, and Create's registries (tracks, train signals, contraption assemblers) need to finish initializing before the world is safe to touch — don't assume it's ready just because the port opens.
Only invite players once that first clean startup has finished without errors. Letting people join mid-load on a Create pack risks desyncs in contraption assembly or signal blocks that are much harder to diagnose once a real rail network is built on top of them.
Take a backup before importing a world, updating the loader, or touching configs. A broken import on a Create Live 7 server doesn't just cost a chest of items — it risks an entire built-out train network and the factory lines that depend on it, which is a lot more painful to lose than a config mistake.
Use a cleaner Create Live 7 path
CoalHost is built around modpack hosting, which makes Create Live 7 much less annoying to launch correctly.
