How to Host an FTB StoneBlock 2 Server
FTB StoneBlock 2 drops you inside a single block of solid stone on Forge 1.12.2 — no sky, no open world, just tunnel out and build your base entirely underground. It's the predecessor to FTB StoneBlock 3, which carries the same concept forward to 1.18.2 with a more polished quest guide; StoneBlock 2 keeps the older but deep 1.12.2 tech mod lineup instead. Hosting it cleanly comes down to starting from the pack's real RAM floor, not a generic Forge guess.
Start with 8 GB — StoneBlock 2's own recommended RAM floor, needed to run its full Forge 1.12.2 tech mod stack and quest guide while you tunnel out from spawn.
Use a clean modpack import flow instead of guessing from a client export — StoneBlock 2's older 1.12.2 mod list is easy to get wrong by hand.
Watch the first boot logs until the server finishes loading. With no open world above spawn, a bad boot can leave you staring at solid stone with nothing properly generated around you.
Invite players only after that first clean startup, once you've confirmed the stone-block world actually generated correctly.
Take a backup before world imports, Forge updates or config changes — losing the world means losing every tunnel and underground base you've dug out by hand.
Use a cleaner FTB StoneBlock 2 path
CoalHost is built around modpack hosting, which makes FTB StoneBlock 2 much less annoying to launch correctly.
