How to Host an Infernal Origins Server

Infernal Origins is a Forge 1.16.5 modpack built around 13 custom Origins classes designed like an MMO party comp — DPS, Healer, Tank, and Utility roles, each with unique passives and tradeoffs. Unlike DarkRPG's unbalanced Origins mod or Beyond Ascension's RPG tiers, neither of which defines explicit MMO roles, Infernal Origins is built specifically for party play, so it's worth hosting correctly if you're running it with a group of 3-5 who want complementary, interdependent roles instead of everyone playing the same class.

1

Start with at least 6 GB of RAM. Infernal Origins runs 13 custom Origins classes on Forge 1.16.5, each with its own passive abilities and DPS/Healer/Tank/Utility balancing — that's the pack's own recommended floor, and going lower risks a slow or failed boot before anyone even picks a class.

2

Import the modpack through a proper installer rather than copying files from a client export. All 13 Origins classes, their ability configs, and the Forge mod list need to land in the right folders on the first try, not get patched in after a broken boot.

3

Watch the console through the first boot until Forge finishes loading every Origins class and ability handler without errors. A broken class registration at this stage won't show up until a player actually tries to select that role mid-session.

4

Only invite players once that first startup has completed cleanly end to end. Infernal Origins is built around party composition, so a world where some classes never registered correctly will quietly break group play from the start.

5

Take a backup before importing a world, updating Forge, or touching class configs. With 13 interdependent MMO-style roles in play, a bad edit can cost a whole party's built-up composition and progress, not just one player's.

Use a cleaner Infernal Origins path

CoalHost is built around modpack hosting, which makes Infernal Origins much less annoying to launch correctly.
