Hosting DREAD cleanly is less about some hidden command and more about doing the obvious things in the right order: the real 8 GB floor confirmed by boot testing, a proper modpack flow, a clean first boot and backups before anything risky.
Start with 8 GB — confirmed as the real minimum from a dedicated-server boot test, not a singleplayer guess.

Watch the first boot logs until the server finishes loading and the horror-survival systems initialize cleanly.
Invite players only after the first clean startup — DREAD is solo-first psychological horror, so test alone before bringing others in.
Take a backup before world imports, Forge updates or config changes — the dread builds up over a long solo run and is painful to lose.
