How to Host a Techopolis 2 Server
Techopolis 2 is the second Techopolis city-in-a-void skyblock, built on Forge 1.19.2. You spawn inside a pre-built city structure floating in nothing, use the city's own infrastructure to bootstrap automation, and expand outward from there. It's the predecessor to Techopolis 3, which moved to NeoForge 1.21.1 — this version is for groups tied to the older Forge ecosystem or who specifically want the original experience.
Techopolis 2 needs at least 7 GB of RAM before you touch a config file — that's the pack's own recommended floor, not a third-party guess. Start your plan at 7 GB so the city's automation systems have headroom to generate chunks as players push outward from spawn.
Skip hand-copying .minecraft folders around. Install Techopolis 2 straight from CoalHost's Forge 1.19.2 modpack catalog so every mod and config lands at the exact version the pack author built against, including the pre-built city structure that spawns your world.
Techopolis 2 drops every player inside a pre-built city floating in a void, so watch the console on first boot until the surrounding void finishes generating and the city's own infrastructure — power, item pipes, factory blocks — reports ready. Don't open the gates while chunks around the city are still loading in.
Only invite players once that first boot has finished cleanly end to end. A server that looks "up" mid-generation can still corrupt the city's starting layout if someone logs in too early.
Back up before any world import, loader update, or config change. Losing the pre-built city layout means restarting the entire skyblock progression from zero, since the city itself is how you bootstrap automation in a Techopolis 2 world — there's no fallback spawn to fall back on.
Use a cleaner Techopolis 2 path
CoalHost is built around modpack hosting, which makes Techopolis 2 much less annoying to launch correctly.
