Connect to your server
Every CoalHost server gets a custom subdomain. You don't need to remember an IP or port — just give your address to friends.
1. Find your address
- Open the panel dashboard and click your server.
- The address is shown at the top:
yourname.coalhosting.com - Click Copy to copy it to your clipboard.
2. Add it to Minecraft
- Launch Minecraft (matching your server version — see Settings → Server Software).
- Click Multiplayer → Add Server.
- Server Name: anything you want.
- Server Address: paste your subdomain — for example
survival.coalhosting.com(no port, nohttps://). - Done → double-click the server to join.
Tip: The server must be running for ping/connect to work. If you see a red X even with the right version, hit Start in the panel and wait ~30 seconds.
3. Change your subdomain
Want a different address? Open the server's Settings → Server Address, type a new subdomain (3–32 chars, lowercase letters/numbers/dashes), and Save. DNS updates within seconds; players can connect to the new address immediately.
Direct IP (fallback)
If a player can't resolve subdomains for some reason, the server is also reachable via the direct IP shown on the dashboard (e.g. 204.168.226.110:25566).
